See the attached link from PC McLean regarding parking and road safety issues currently experienced at Kinmylies Way – it contains important information on the enforcement of unsafe parking. Please be aware that Kinmylies Church are happy to let parents park in their car park when available. Please try to park considerately.
Poppies will be on sale daily from tomorrow Wednesday 31st October. Our P7 pupils will go round classes each day with the collection tins.
Well done to all our pupils on their first “Lockdown” practice. Every class managed to follow the protocol perfectly and we had a successful Lockdown of the school. Children were quiet and sensible throughout the practice and followed all the instructions they were given. Well done everyone!
Tomorrow morning, we are going to have a practice of our “Lockdown” procedure. Similarly to a fire drill, we are now asked to have plans in place for both evacuation and isolation of the building . There are some incidents for which staying put is the safer option. This may include severe weather, an incident in the local community or a distressed child. All schools in Highland are developing these procedures – this is not in response to any perceived risk. This has possibly been discussed with your child already or they will be told about it tomorrow morning before the practice takes place. We ask you to chat this through with them and reassure that it is a normal procedure that will be treated the same way as a fire drill. Similarly to the fire drill, this will be practiced at different times throughout the year so that children and staff are familiar with the procedure.
It’s sponsored walk day! We hope everyone is looking forward to spending the morning out in our lovely local area. The forecast is mixed so please ensure children have appropriate clothing and footwear and perhaps pop a set of dry clothing in school bags for them to change in to after the walk.
Children can wear comfy trousers but should still have their school sweater. Don’t forget a snack for p6-7 who go our longer route up by the SNH building. Canteen snack will not be available for them as they will not be back in time.
Parents who are able to help should come in via front reception at 9.15 after dropping your child at the normal gate. If you’re able to help but haven’t yet returned a slip, please just come along and let Mrs McKellar know your child’s name and class. You will be sorted in to class groups before going out to join the kids and staff.
Lets hope it’s not too wet!
Sponsorship forms and money due by end of next week.
Reminder that the balance for the Lagganlia trip should be paid to the school tomorrow Friday 21st September.
As you know our sponsored walk is tomorrow at 9.30am. As it is a walk around the local area the permissions are covered by the general consents box ticked on the enrolment form/annual data check.
If you do not want your child to participate in the walk for any reason please contact the school before 9.30am tomorrow morning.
