DR Bike Community Workshop @ Kinmylies Primary

(click on the link for more information or ask for Mrs Munro at the school)

Please bring your bike along (adult and childrens) for a check up at the Dr Bike workshop on Thursday 15th March @ 3.30 in the playground.  This is a free service and will be provided by Velocity, Inverness.

At Dr Bike sessions experienced cyclists and mechanics check everything on your bike from wheels, brakes, gears and tyre pressure to lights, racks, pedals, saddles and more. By the end, your bike will feel loved and cared for.

Any minor adjustments we can make to the bike we do there and then. Anything we can’t fix on site we will let you know exactly what needs doing and a rough guide to what it should cost at a bike shop.

Our Family Learning Hub so Far!!

I have put together pictures of things we have had running in and around our Family Learning Hub so far.  It has been very busy and exciting with lots more to come!  We have started Book Bug session, PEEP Groups, Family Relax Kids Sessions for P3, Family Fun Fitness for P5 – P7, a Speech and Language Focus Group, lunch activity groups and our weekly coffee mornings sharing information about what is going on in the school and providing a chance for parents to get together and relax!  I will keep you updated of more developments as they happen.

Coffee Morning with PC Maclean

Our next coffee morning in our Family Learning Hub will be on Monday 26th February from 9am – 10.30am.

PC Stevie Maclean, our community police officer is hoping to nip in and say hello before 10am.  PC Maclean regularly visits the school and works with our vice captains and other groups so the children are very used to having him about.  It would be great for our parents to have the same opportunity to get a blether and meet him.

Looking forward to seeingyou there.

We are excited and looking forward to celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 1st March in Kinmylies Primary School and Nursery.

Children are invited to ‘BE YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK CHARACTER’ and donate £1(or more!) to dress up. Your fundraising will be used to buy books for our class libraries – chosen by pupils. You can find some great costume ideas and how to videos at: http://www.bookaid.org/worldbookday

We will also be encouraging children and teachers to join in World Book Day by doing lots of fun activities like sharing favourite stories with one another.

We hope to have lots of storytelling sessions and fun in our Family Learning Hub throughout the day also.  More information on this will be available next week.
