Primary 6/7 and 7 International Food Afternoon

During the past term, P6/7 and 7 have been studying Asia and Canada respectively for their topic. The children decided they wanted to try food from around the world, so we had an International Food Afternoon! Children took in food and our kitchen and children made some food, including Canadian Poutine.

We were also incredibly fortunate to receive some food from the very generous Hou Hou Mei – they provided Yakatori Chicken Skewers which were an absolute hit! In addition, lots of pupils brought food in from home, including homemade Thai Spring Rolls.

The children had a great time and many even used chopsticks for the first time – it was a lovely afternoon. Thank you to our wonderful kitchen ladies, all contributions from our parents and carers and Hou Hou Mei for their generosity.

Charleston Exams

Charleston Exams
This is a reminder to all of our families that the SQA Final Exams will be starting from tomorrow in Charleston Academy.  These are held all throughout the school but mostly in the top gym hall next to the path between Kinmylies Primary and Charleston Academy.

To support the pupils within Charleston we politely request that when collecting your children from school that noise is kept to a minimum and no one hangs about this area.  This is to avoid distracting or disturbing the pupils sitting their exams so they can do their best on the day.  It will be our own Primary children doing this one day.

Some days we will also be closing the top playground to reduce the noise travelling to the exam area during break and play times.

Thank you in advance for your support with this.

The McRobert Cup

Well done to the pupils who took part in the McRobert Cup Cross country competition today at Torvean Park. Our runners trained hard and did themselves proud today in a very competitive field – and all still smiling at the end! Thank you to our parent helpers and supporters who joined the team today, your help is always appreciated.

Training for Interschool Sports begins first Wednesday back after the Easter Holidays.

P7 Movie Evening

P7 Movie Evening
On Wednesday, P7’s are holding a movie evening to raise some final funds for their residential trip. This will be held in the portacabins, in the P7 classroom. It costs £2 to join and this includes a small snack.

Please enter and leave from the side pedestrian gate that leads into the portacabins. There will be P7’s there to guide you. An adult must collect you at the end.

P1-P3 will be watching the Monsters Inc series (rated U).
P4-P7 will be watching Minions (rated U).
P3’s in P3/4 can choose which one they would prefer to come along to.

Come along in your PJs and also feel free to bring a blanket, pillow, and a teddy!

Tickets will be sold tomorrow and Wednesday morning so there is still time to buy.

Thank you and we can’t wait to see you all at our movie evening!
